Speak up safely
When you use your voice against racism, you make it easier for others to do the same. We all have a responsibility to make our Kingston community safe for everyone. However, it’s important to prioritize your safety and consider the context of the situation. If possible, try to deescalate the situation and diffuse tension. This could involve calmly intervening, seeking assistance from authorities, or offering support to the victim. By speaking up against racism, you demonstrate solidarity with the victim and contribute to creating a culture of accountability and respect.
