Training
We are excited to announce the launch of a self-paced e-course on anti-racism training. We recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all, and this course is a significant step towards achieving that goal.
Developed in collaboration with experts in the field, our anti-racism e-course is designed to provide essential knowledge, tools, and strategies to effectively address and combat racism in our communities. Whether you are a staff member, volunteer, or partner organization, this course offers valuable insights and practical guidance that
can benefit everyone involved in the 211 Ontario network.
The course is on the Granicus platform:
https://211connect.211ontario.ca/race-and-racism-in-canada-e-course.
Key features of the e-course include:
Self-Paced Learning: Participants have the flexibility to complete the course at their own pace, allowing for optimal engagement and understanding.
Comprehensive Curriculum: The course covers various aspects of anti-racism, including understanding privilege, unconscious bias, systemic racism, and strategies for promoting diversity and inclusion
Interactive Modules: Engaging multimedia content, interactive quizzes, and real-life scenarios ensure an immersive learning experience.
Accompanying Guidebook: This is a useful guide and practical tool for providing the space required to engage in self-reflection, unlearning, relearning, and identifying best practices. It can be used to help support managers and community stakeholders in having interactive discussions regarding best practices and new ways of being as service providers.
LMS Platform: The course is hosted on the LMS platform of InformUSA, which will allow all 211 Ontario staff who take the course to earn a certificate of completion and use it towards the training requirements of certification/recertification.
We believe that investing in anti-racism education is crucial for building a more just and equitable society. By equipping ourselves with the knowledge and skills to challenge racism and discrimination, we can create positive change and foster a DEI culture of belonging for all.
